He left it all out there on this one...

Almost there!!!
Just before the start of the race in Cortland
Right after finishing in Tully...
Just about 20yards to go!!
Lucas waiting to see dad...
The start of the race...

Lucas did his part of helping, putting the water bottles in!!
Jake and Dave before the race in Tully...(Dave is the man who introduced Jake to the world of bike racing...)
Jake decided it would be best to have a couple of races under his belt before doing the one in Lake Placid...we first went to one in the Cortland area and then one two weekends ago in Tully...definitely a learning experience!! People at bike races are nothing like the people at running races...when we pulled in to the first one in Cortland and they were sizing Jake up from the moment he stepped out of the car!! They are a very competitive bunch!! Overall Jake did great on his first ever race and finished proudly!! The second one was a little better, the nerves weren't as bad...this time there was a wider variety of bikers and Jake wasn't so much the "beginner". Lucas and I also love our little day trips to watch dad!! I love knowing that this is something we can do as a family...seeing Jake cross the finish line is always exciting!! The best part of all of this is that winning is NOT the top priority for Jake...he is doing something that he loves to do, it motivates him, gives him goals..I am totally inspired every time I see him cross that finish line!! Love you so much!! You make us so proud!!
